RH Fibreboard pass FSC® audit

Published - 24th May 2021

We are pleased to announce that we have passed our FSC® annual audit with no non-conformances for the second year running. We would also like to thank all our chain of custody suppliers for showing similar commitments to us for ensuring paper and board is coming from sustainable sources – either a well-managed recycling loop, or well managed forestry practice.

One of the challenges that Covid-19 has thrown the paper packaging industry is a surge in demand from online sales but also delays in paper making. Paper stocks have been at low levels for some time. One of the reasons for this is that kerbside collections of cardboard for recycling is not as efficient as recycling from industry or retail premises. With many of these businesses closed through three national lockdowns, this has meant delays in the manufacture and creation of recycled paper.

Sales director Steve Gabell stated “We would like to thank our suppliers for ensuring that despite significant delays in the supply chain, there is still a massive commitment to sourcing materials ethically and sustainably. With material in very short supply, it is encouraging to see that materials coming into us are still carrying the relevant certifications. I’m also proud of our team that have accountability for ensuring FSC® procedures have been followed over the last year, despite working conditions that none of us would have expected 18 months ago, I cant praise the team enough for showing responsibility to our environment”.
